New Stuff and Sale Stuff: Max Studio

I have recently been shopping a lot more at Max Studio. At first I thought their color palettes might be too sub-dued for me. But lately I have been finding a lot of great staples there. Here are few I found online lately. Textured Leather Wedges $149, Kimono Top $38 (Reg. $98) and Shirring Jacket $71 (Reg. 238).

Best Emmy Dress

So I picked my two favorite Emmy red carpet dresses. Evangeline Lilly (from Lost) Versace strapless dress - love the color on her! Heidi Klum (from Project Runway) in Michael Kors. Although Heidi looks great I wish she would have had one of the winners from Project Runway design her dress (as she has done in other events). I am kind of sick of the same old designer names walking down the red carpet. Which one do you like best?

Splurge vs. Steal: Platform Patent Leather

These shoes have been springing up everywhere. The platform pump is amazingly stylish and the platform adds a little extra comfort. I like the mix of the two materials, the cork heel and the shiny patent leather. You can find these shoes in a large price range - I think I saw a similar Gucci pair for $435. The two pictured here Splurge: Anne Klein $175 at Bloomingdales and Steal: Urban Outfitters $68.

Celebrity Clothing Line L.A.M.B.

Of all of the celebrity clothing lines popping up the L.A.M.B. clothing line by Gwen Stefani stands apart. Channeling her rocker persona into these funky clothing designs is pure genius. I especially love her fall collection which seems more wearable and less hollywood. Plaid dresses (red $565) and (grey $365) pictured below available at shopbop.

Oh So Cute Bathrobe

I came across this adorable bathrobe in the most unexpected of places:
href="http://www.americanapparel.net">American Apparel.
I have been looking for a new bathrobe for several weeks but it is one of those obscure things you are never really in the mood to shop for. This robe is sleek and sexy but still made out of terry cloth. The best of both worlds. It comes in a lot of great colors too.

Trend Alert: Owls

I love all of the introduction of nature themes into fashion; birds, leaves etc. It seems especially fitting for fall that the owl should be the next beloved creature to appear. Shown below is Target's new Joe & Paul collections coveted owl tote - which has been shown in several magazines - but no one seems to be able to get their hands on. I also found this adorable lucite owl necklace by designer Tarina Tarantino $120.00.

Apparel and Paintings by Leora Lutz

It is hard to find a silk screened t-shirt these days that is really unique. These long sleeve t-shirts by Leora Lutz are great. It is like wearing a small painting and actually it is. You can also purchase the original pieces of art of these Los Angeles skylines.

Greeting Cards Ink.

I came across these cards by Greeting Cards Ink. and think they are adorable. They remind me of fourth grade. The cute little drawings make me smile everytime I look at them. And the fact that they have a binder paper background is the best part. Is it strange to miss binder paper? Send one to one of your best friends from grade school. They are sure to get a laugh. Price $2.00 per card.

Michael Kors: Back in Black

I really love Michael Kors new fall / winter collection. The rich blacks fabric in this top has beautiful draping which looks cozy and sophisticated at the same time. Pair with these Michael Kors slouchy heeled boots for a complete look. Great for the winter office straight to dinner party attire. Cowl Neck Matte Jersey Top ($79.00) and Harness Slouch Boot ($268.00).

Paul & Joe for Target

Target launches yet another designer collection by Sophie Albou. Sophie is a Parisian designer and her family is a legacy in the French fashion industry. She launched her line Paul & Joe (named after her sons) in the 90's. Her line is an eclectic mix of clean lines and intricate details. Below are some of my favorite picks from her new collection. Leather Ruffle Jacket $139 and Wool Roll Up Shorts $29.99. Unfortunately again the European designed line runs small so order TWO sizes up. Hasn't anyone told target about "vanity sizing"?

Product Review: Aveda Skin Care

I have been using Aveda hair products for about a year. So last time I was at the Aveda store to pick up my regular hair supplies I began browsing their skin care line. I started asking the sales woman questions and she was extremely helpful in helping me pick out products for my specific skin. The greatest part was that all of the products I bought also came in a small size which was about half as much as the regular size. So I could try the products out without spending a fortune. Needless to say I have been using the skin care products for about a month and I am extremely pleased with the way my skin looks and feels. I feel somehow it looks more radiant. Not joking!

Not only have I been really happy with products I have purchased from Aveda I am also happy to support their use of natural ingredients and their eco-friendly mission.
