Emerging Designer: Liv and Lucy

Kim Moorhead is the founder and designer behind Liv & Lucy Designs , an innovative and eclectic line of fashion jewelry. Each piece from the collection is fun and flirty, yet feminine with a bohemian - vintage influence. Check out these pieces using vintage raw brass charms, semi-precious stones and vintage beads. And the prices are so reasonable! Most items between $28 and $34. I really love this leaf necklace. It reminds me of the leaf necklace that Jennifer Aniston wore in "The Breakup". Available for purchase at Trunkshop.

Trend Alert: Mod A-Line Dresses

Blast from the past. New for the fall season and something we haven't seen in the past few seasons are these adorable Mod A Line Dresses. To complete the outfit add a pair of tall boots, tights and a contrasting colored turtle neck. Yes I said turtle neck. Think Twiggy circa 1965. I wonder if the mod haircuts will follow? Dress by Foley for Foley + Corinna $315 at Shopbop.

Metallic Kicks Splurge vs. Steal

I am really into the metallic detail in these sneakers. Unlike the use of metallic in past seasons, this fall, metallic will be used in a more subtle understated way. Just a little dash of glamour instead of an all out blinding of bling. Below I have found two different metallic sneakers. Perferct for sprucing up your favorite jeans. Splurge: Varja Wns by Puma $220. Steal: Victory Sneakers by American Eagle Outfitters $29.

Skinny Jeans Not So Skinny

Is anyone else besides me sick of this whole skinny jeans thing. I have tried several different brands and I think they look ridiculous. I consider myself to be pretty fit but these do not accentuate the right places. I admit some people (namely Angelina Jolie who partially started this whole craze) look good in them. But if you have any sort of hips or rump you are SOL. I much prefer flared jeans like these ones by Guess pictured below. They are much more forgiving and the bottom belling out makes hip curves flattering not pearish.

Check out these adorable and sexy apron tops by Mon Petit Oiseau. The light weight fabrics and loose yet contoured styling make these a must have for the hottest months of the year. Your beau is also sure to love these fifties style but better "I have a job but still like to bake pie" tops. On sale now at Azaleas.

Welcome Habitat Shoes

Habitat Shoesis a new e-store that sells shoes and accessories. I really love their selection of designers including: Killah, Farylrobin, J Shoes and more. The designers they feature on their site are all really original and affordable. And instead of having hundreds of styles like other shoe websites, they handpick the styles for you, so you don't have to spend hours sorting through the site. I have picked some of my favorites below; J Shoes Frill in Bone $80.00, Black/white/green Killah Simon Shoes $95 and Farylrobin Bissette in Loden Sale $124.

Metallic Wall Art by Nic Norman

I don't know if you guys caught these wallprints by Nic Norman on Daily Candy weekly deals. But I thought these wall art pieces were really interesting. They remind me of something circa 1970's chinese restaurant. And you know how wild I am about vintage things. Especially with fall quickly approaching - a good time to introduce metallics back into the picture. I also like the calming nature themes.

Vintage Jewelry at Trunkshop

One of my favorite past time as a young girl was to try on all of my grandmothers jewelry. I used to spend hours sorting through cocktail rings, long beaded necklaces and lucite bracelets. Everthing seemed so much more glamourous in those days. People dressed up to go ballroom dancing on Friday nights. In a tribute to past times and cherished items, Trunkshop has added a vintage collection to their jewelry and accessories website. Check out these great finds below.

Asymmetry: The Next Big Thing

I have been noticing a lot of asymmetry in up and coming design. I really like this new look. It adds extra interest and quarkiness to your outfit. As opposed to the sleek asymmetric looks in the 1990's, the new look of assyemtry includes a lot of embellisments, beads, ribbons, charms etc. Check out this necklace design (Sale Price $42.00) by Otter Otto Jewelry and this bohemian shirt by Free People available at Girlshop.

Cheap and Chic at Alloy

Just because you are on a budget doesn't mean you have to look like you are on one. I am going to start dedicating Fridays to Cheap and Chic finds. A slew of shops have started offering lower price points and with trends changing all of the time sometimes budget is better. I think the trend started by H&M of a lot of turn over at a low price point has really been catching on and my closet and my pocket book are thankful for it. Don't get me wrong some of my favorite shops are always going to be expensive but supplementing with some bargain pieces always makes me feel like I am getting my money's worth.

Check out these cute pieces at Forever 21's sister company Alloy. Lace Top $28.50 and Shorts $26.50.
